The Savior Foundation was contacted to help Sophie, who was found as a stray on Airways Blvd and brought to Memphis Animal Services (MAS) 8/15/25. MAS put her on the euthanasia list giving rescues only 24 hours to save her. A medical foster volunteered to keep her during treatment and Luna Farms Rescue stepped up to help Sophie find a permanent home. We decided to join the team and help Sophie. Based on MAS records, Sophie is in very bad shape as described below:
"Non-weight bearing in pelvic limbs
-Swelling & puncture at medial right hock
-Crepitus in left hip
-Swelling distal right femur
X-ray Results:
-Fractured left femoral head with luxation
-Greenstick, non-displaced fracture of distal right femur (just distal to patella)"
Sophie is 2 years old, 41 pounds AND heartworm positive! It appears she may have recently had puppies. This precious girl is going to Germantown Parkway Animal Hospital to get a full body exam and medical plan. Sophie is going to receive excellent medical attention and she can start feeling better. Sophie is safe and surrounded by lots of love.
Sophie will need a lot of treatment for her broken body and heartworm treatment. Please donate to her care! We can't do this without donations!
