A very concerned dog mom contacted The Savior Foundation for help. Mom told us that her dog, Shiloh, was not eating much and was vomitting. Plus, Shiloh was not going to the bathroom much. She thought that maybe Shiloh ate a toy. Unfortunately, mom had limited funds; however, we were able to help supplement Shiloh's care. After xrays and consultations, we discovered that Shiloh did eat a dog toy and a barrette in the shape of a star. Due to the sharp edges and large toy in Shiloh's intenstines, Dr. Zinkus had to perform emergency surgery. Good thing the GPAH team jumpled into action as the barrette was sticking out the intenstine wall and could have caused severe internal damage. Plus, the toy was causing additional blockage.

Shiloh did so well during surgery and she is now recovering comfortably at home with her mom. Shiloh goes back in a couple of weeks for stitch removal. We are so glad that we were able to work with Shiloh's mom to get Shiloh the emergency treatment needed to remove the objects.
